Job Description

The Company provides internet-based automated products and services to the property and casualty insurance industry since 1999. Shelton, Connecticut, is its corporate headquarters. By developing proprietary custom software, it allows Managing General Agents (MGAs) and Excess and Surplus Lines Brokers (E & S) to extend rating, quoting, and binding capabilities to retail producers.

Responsibilities:
Sr. MS SQL DBA is responsible for working with and managing a technical team of professionals providing IT services to remotely located clients.

 Tasks can include but are not limited to:
o Break fix, Account administration, Always ON, Replication, Log shipping, clustering, backups and recovery, audit reporting, SSRS, TDE, Performance tuning as well as proactive environment health checks
o TSQL, Query tuning, SQL Profiler, Execution Plan, Wait statistics
o Disk space check, fragmentation, blocking, deadlock
 Meeting with clients to scope and plan SQL Server based projects
 Oversee and implement SQL Server based projects:
o Upgrades, migrations, refreshes, cloud implementations
 Review Work Queue, work in-take processes, execute work, task requests, and work any other requests from clients or manager might assign
 Manage a team of SQL Server DBAs cum developers
o Escalations
o Team Development and Reviews
 Responsible for providing all aspects of SQL Server Database administration support.
 Problem management of high volume Incidents and reduce repetitive incidents through Monitoring, tuning and Automation and proactive capacity management
 Assist in the development and implementation of DBA process, procedures and SOPs for SQL Server Database Systems
 Client communications – be it via the ticketing system, separate email, direct person to person phone interaction, as well as participation in conference calls and in some cases providing leadership of customer interaction in conference calls and other communications
 Support and follow the P0 and P1 escalation process
 Support and follow the security management program and policy
 Responsible for evaluating patching requests, communicating constraints, risks, issues and timelines for deployment
 Provide customer health checks as required
 Take on New Technologies as the Company requires
