Role Overview

As a Drools Developer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and testing a business rules engine used for decision automation. You will collaborate closely with technical and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust, scalable Drools-based solutions.

This role requires strong Java programming skills, a solid understanding of rule-based systems, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Experience in the BFSI domain will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design, develop, and test business rule components using the Drools framework.
  2. Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather and understand business and technical requirements.
  3. Collaborate with credit policy and engineering teams to implement rules and workflows.
  4. Integrate Drools components with other enterprise systems and ensure seamless operation.
  5. Partner with QA teams to validate solutions and ensure high-quality deliverables.
  6. Document rule logic, configurations, and processes for future reference and audits.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  1. Strong experience in Java development with enterprise-level applications.
  2. Hands-on experience or solid understanding of Drools (Business Rules Management System).
  3. Familiarity with rule-based decision systems and business process automation.
  4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  5. Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  6. Ability to work effectively with teams across time zones, including some overlap with U.S. working hours.

Preferred Skills

  1. Prior experience working in the Banking, Financial Services, or Insurance (BFSI) domain.
  2. Knowledge of integration frameworks or workflow engines.
  3. Experience in Agile or Scrum environments.
