Role Overview
As a Drools Developer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and testing a business rules engine used for decision automation. You will collaborate closely with technical and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust, scalable Drools-based solutions.
This role requires strong Java programming skills, a solid understanding of rule-based systems, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Experience in the BFSI domain will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test business rule components using the Drools framework.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather and understand business and technical requirements.
- Collaborate with credit policy and engineering teams to implement rules and workflows.
- Integrate Drools components with other enterprise systems and ensure seamless operation.
- Partner with QA teams to validate solutions and ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Document rule logic, configurations, and processes for future reference and audits.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong experience in Java development with enterprise-level applications.
- Hands-on experience or solid understanding of Drools (Business Rules Management System).
- Familiarity with rule-based decision systems and business process automation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work effectively with teams across time zones, including some overlap with U.S. working hours.
Preferred Skills
- Prior experience working in the Banking, Financial Services, or Insurance (BFSI) domain.
- Knowledge of integration frameworks or workflow engines.
- Experience in Agile or Scrum environments.
