Position Summary
The SQL DBA will be responsible for managing and supporting SQL Server environments while working closely with a technical team that provides IT services to remotely located clients. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in SQL Server administration, proactive system monitoring, and the ability to support mission-critical environments with high availability and performance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
SQL Server Administration & Support
- Manage and support Always On Availability Groups, Replication, Log Shipping, Clustering, backup and recovery processes.
- Perform audit reporting, SSRS administration, TDE implementation, and proactive health checks.
- Handle T-SQL development, query optimization, execution plans, SQL Profiler, and wait statistics analysis.
- Monitor and resolve issues related to disk space, fragmentation, blocking, and deadlocks.
Project & Platform Management
- Lead and support SQL Server–based initiatives, including upgrades, migrations, database refreshes, and cloud implementations.
- Provide end-to-end SQL Server DBA support across environments.
Operations & Escalation
- Support and adhere to P0 and P1 escalation processes.
- Follow and enforce security management programs and policies.
- Conduct customer health checks as required.
- Adapt to and support new technologies as business needs evolve.
Required Experience & Skills
Essential Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 4–5+ years of hands-on experience as a SQL Server DBA.
- Strong expertise across multiple versions of SQL Server.
Technical & Professional Skills
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft tools such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to create, follow, and maintain operational and technical documentation.
