Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the WordPress development team, ensuring high-quality coding standards and best practices.
- Architect, develop, and maintain complex custom WordPress websites, including custom theme and plugin development.
- Conduct code reviews and oversee technical upskilling within the team.
- Identify and implement internal tools or process improvements to enhance team productivity.
- Lead R&D initiatives — including plugin research, performance audits, and reusable component development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, content, marketing, and project management) to ensure project alignment.
- Optimize site performance, speed, and scalability while maintaining top security standards.
- Manage Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation.
- Provide technical guidance on WooCommerce and e-commerce development best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and integration challenges.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in WordPress development.
- Deep expertise in custom theme and plugin development.
- Strong understanding of ACF, WooCommerce, AJAX, REST APIs, and custom post types.
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6), and MySQL.
- Experience with Gutenberg block development and headless WordPress using REST API or GraphQL.
- Strong grasp of performance optimization techniques — caching, lazy loading, and asset minification.
- Familiarity with security best practices for WordPress websites.
- Experience managing Git, CI/CD, and automated deployment workflows.
- Excellent communication skills with experience collaborating across global teams.
- Leadership qualities with a proven ability to mentor and guide developers.
